Day 9 Cairns - Kuranda
Day 9 Cairns-Kuranda
Another nice hot sunny day greeted us as we headed up Kuranda on the Scenic Railway Line. Beautiful scenery along the way with some great views back to Cairns and the ocean. If I remembered correctly we crossed 36 bridges, 150 corners and 15 tunnels.
The markets were on today so we strolled through and I got to photograph the most cutest little bat that had been rescued. They are quite gorgeous when you get a close up look, well they are when they are babies.
Alot of interesting things at the market. The crocodile skin wallets and purses where wonderful and with a wonderful price tag as well. I did decide that I would add a nice pink braid to my hair.
Loved the train station with all of their beautiful green plants it made it very peaceful.
Not a lot of people in our carriage on the way home so we got to stretch out on the nice springy bench seats. The only problem was that our carriage was the first one behind the 2 engines so of course every shake, rattle, roll, squeal of brakes we got to hear lol. Arrived back in Cairns and dropped Nancy & Stephen back at the park and then we headed over to see my cousin Lynelle and her husband Robert also got to meet 2 of her 3 kids and 3 grandchildren. Stupid here forgot to get a photo (sorry cuz). We had a great BBQ with enough food to feed an army. Thank you guys for your hospitality just sorry that our time was limited. Tomorrow is a free day as Eddie has to get the car tyre seen to so Nancy & I will hit some succulent places. See ya
