Day 8 Cairns-Port Douglas-Mossman Gorge
Today was an exploring day. We decided to head to Port Douglas and Mossman Gorge. Nice drive along the coast line. I was a bit disappointed with Port Douglas. I was thinking more glitz and glamour but basically it was just a nice little coastal town. I must admit though the views along the beach and from the lookout were quite spectacular just a damn shame that the water is not really swim-able except at the netted off bits due to stinger activity. Glad we did the trip but its really only a once only visit.
Next part of the trip was to Mossman Gorge and the swimming hole. Nice place for a cool down after a walk. We just watched Stephen go for a swim, water was just abit tooo cool for the rest of us
. One way home we ducked into the city and had a look at the Lagoon.
Certainly is a wonderful addition to the city. The weather has been good but very humid. We love coming back to the park for a swim in the pool. Tomorrow is the Scenic Railway Trip to Kuranda. See ya
