Day 5 Airlie Beach-Whitehaven Beach. WOW WHAT A DAY

 Day 5.

We woke to a beautiful morning and all excited about our adventure today on the "Thunder Cat" from Red Cat Adventures. This baby is 850 horse power and can she MOVE. We where lucky there was only 11 of us. Our Skipper Mark and Deckhand Jack were ABSOLUTEY FANTASTIC. Extremely knowledgeable about the area and certainly gave us our monies worth. The first stop was a bay across from Hayman Island  for some snorkeling. I decided that it would be best if I stayed out of the water cause all anyone would of been hearing is me screaming if I came face to face with fish. I went out on the tender boat with Jack and we played spotter for 3 turtles. The 2nd stop was Butterfly Bay for a touch more snorkelling again I stayed out of the water and just sunned myself and read my book. 3rd stop was for fish feeding at Mantaray Bay. No WAY was I going to get in the water. Talk about hundreds of fish just swarming around the boat and our swimmers. It was made more funny by the fish swarming when food was thrown towards the snorkelers. I just shuddered when the water became frantic with fish activity. After that we headed over to Whitsunday Island for lunch and a walk across to Whitehaven. But the journey first had to go through what is called the Washing Machine. Its where current meets wind. WOW the thrill when you get 850 pony power cranked up. They even turned the steering over to Steven talk about a kid in a candy shop. Wind blowing through your hair and you are riding the waves like a bucking bull.. sheer exhilaration. THAT was the best time. After lunch we walked over to Whitehaven where the sand is pristine white and not hot at all. We got shown mantarays and just generally lazed around in the beautiful weather. Jack even showed Nancy & I how to clean our jewellery with the sand. WOW what a difference that made, we now have shiny jewellery. After kicking back on the sand we walked to the 3 lookouts and it was just gorgeous looking down on the water below and seeing all those green/blue colours and a much better advantage point to see the stingrays. On the way home they handed the steering over to Eddie who was another kid in a candy shop and again cranked the ponies up. talk about fly across the water. We returned home about 4ish so excited about the day we had on the water, how wonderful the crew was and how amazing the weather was. If you ever go to Airlie Beach book a tour with RED CAT ADVENTURES you won't be disappointed. We arrived home and so enjoyed a couple of beers. Thank god Nancy had cooked dinner before we left.Score......

Tomorrow we move onwards towards Cairns. We think we have a destination for tomorrow night will just have to wait to see where we stop. Thanks for following me I hope you are enjoying our adventures. Don't be afraid to post a comment. Now sit back and enjoy some photos from today.

xx
